This year is the 250th Anniversary of the United States, meaning the signing of the Declaration of Independence!!! There is planning underway for celebrating this historic event. As activities are finalized, details will be shared, hopefully everyone in the town will celebrate this wonderful occasion.
Come and view some historical items at the Town Hall. We are pleased to say we have a few items out for your viewing pleasure. We are here during normal Town Clerk Hours (Tues 9-12, Thur 1-4, Sat 9-12).
We have a magazine rack with a lot of yearbooks as well as a box of yearbooks that you can look thru. Also in the rack are some other interesting books about the Town.
There is a picture of the 1987 Polo Team and many spectators at the Polo field in Gilbertsville, but wondering if anyone can name anyone in the picture? (I think one is Pete Bostwick, just to kick things off (LOL)).
There is a table that is made from a section of the floor from the old Upton Castle.
There are also several other items on the walls for you to view.
If you would like to take a peek, please come to the Town Hall and have a look.
There is is "Peek back in Time" display in the window of the Gilbert Block. Please take a look when you stroll by. The display will only be there a short time.
